Bulnes Fort, or Strait Park, was the first settlement in Southern Chile founded in 1843 as a strategic point for the defense of the population, resulting in the subsequent founding of the city of Punta Arenas in 1848. The tour extends through this historical place, where we will discover every detail of its legacy and We will have free time to take photographs.

Full day Inútil Bay Penguins (join-in, regular service)

On this guided tour of limited capacity, we will cross the Strait of Magellan until we reach Inútil Bay, an area of recognized archaeological value in Tierra del Fuego, with human occupations dating back 6,000 years. The highest density of archaeological sites in the area is concentrated on the coast, with a total of 62 throughout Bahía Inútil, 12 of them in the area of the King Penguin Nature Reserve (Aptenodytes patagonicus). This migratory bird, the second largest of the 18 species of penguins that exist in the world, moves from its breeding areas on sub-Antarctic islands to the circumpolar Antarctic waters in search of food.

Half day Magdalena Island & Marta Island Navigation (join-in, regular service)

Magdalena Island welcomes more than 60,000 penguins each year and Marta Island is home to more than 1,500 sea lions. We begin with this unique adventure, heading towards Laredo Bay to embark to Magdalena Island, where we will disembark 1 hour later to discover the natural habitat of the Magellanic Penguins, in the largest colony in Chile. We continue our journey to Marta Island to spot sea lions, and if weather conditions allow, imperial cormorants and hundreds of southern gulls. After this, we will begin the trip back to Punta Arenas, where our activity ends.

Half day Patagonian Wildlife (join-in, regular service)

Duration: 5 h app.

100 km north of Punta Arenas, our route is an unforgettable immersion into the extensive Patagonian pampa, subject to strong winds all year round and characterized by low temperatures and shrubby vegetation. Feel the unique experience of photographing species of wild birds and mammals in their natural environment such as: Guanacos, Culpeo and Gray Fox, Hares, Rheas, Flamingos, Black-necked Swans and other more discreet ones such as the Piche and Peludo Armadillo , the Chingue: the famous Condor, and other birds of prey such as Moras Eagles, etc.
We will visit the largest condor colony in Chilean Patagonia, located 78 km from Punta Arenas, where after a light walk, we will reach the foot of the rock wall that serves as a refuge for the condors. An amazing journey through our wildlife!

Full day Whales & Glaciers (join-in, regular service)

Duration: 13 h app.
Departures: (Dec / Mar) Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, subject to weather conditions.
This full-day trip will make us feel nature in its most pure state, leaving very early from Punta Arenas, we will travel by bus to our embarkation 50 kilometers south of the city and then sail exploring the Strait of Magellan, enjoying a landscape unique surrounded by mountains, glaciers and lenga and coihue forests until reaching Cabo Froward, the only place in the world where we can observe humpback whales, sei whales, southern dolphins, Magellanic penguins, among other species, in the same day. After this, we will begin the trip back to Punta Arenas, where our activity ends.

Full day Glacier Avenue (join-in, regular service)

Duration: 12 a 14 h app.
Departures: (May / Aug) Scheduled dates, subject to weather conditions.
Majestic mountains, imposing ice fields and a fascinating sky await us to board at Bahía Carrera and navigate the Strait of Magellan, the route of the first circumnavigation around the world carried out by Ferdinand Magellan. We will observe the San Isidro Lighthouse and continue the trip until we reach Cape Froward, where at the top of the rock stands the Cross of the Seas, which symbolizes the southernmost point of the American continent. The navigation will continue to the Alberto de Agostini National Park, where we will be able to observe around six different glaciers, in addition to marveling at Mount Sarmiento. After this, we will begin the trip back to Punta Arenas, where our activity ends.

Full day Kayak with Whales (join-in, regular service)

Duration: 12 h app.
Departures: (Dec / Mar) Scheduled dates, subject to weather conditions.
We will leave very early in the morning on a 50 km route south of Punta Arenas and then navigate through the Strait of Magellan until we reach the Francisco Coloane Marine Park, where we can observe different animals such as sea lions, petrels, cormorants and southern dolphins, among others.all in the Patagonian landscape made up of mountains, glaciers and forests. Here, we will disembark in our kayaks to be able to paddle alongside the humpback whales that are present in the place during the season. After this, we will begin the return trip to Punta Arenas, where our activity ends.

DAY 1 PUNTA ARENAS

Reception at Punta Arenas airport and transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon, city tour: the first location that we will visit is the Plaza de Armas and its monument of Hernando de Magallanes, inaugurated in 1920, this 10 mts high bronze statue represents the Portuguese explorer standing on a cannon and in its base of stone, you can find a Tehuelche Indian who symbolizes the Patagonia, a Selknam native, who represents Tierra del Fuego and a mermaid. Later, we will go to the Cerro de la Cruz lookout, to have a view of the city, the Bulnes Avenue and the Magellan Straigt. Finally, we visit the Salesian Museum, considered one of the most completes museums of the Patagonia.
Return to the hotel and overnight.
Note: Consider that the museum has 3 floors, and it does not have an elevator.
