This private tour will allow you to meet the gorillas in the impenetrable forest of Bwindi, observe the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha and the “big five“ in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Also on the itinerary is a trip to Kibale National Park, recognized as having the greatest diversity and density of primates in Africa.

DAY 1 ENTEBBE

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda and after finalizing the formalities, you will be welcomed by your guide who will then drive you to your hotel.

DAY 2 ENTEBBE - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Today you will fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas. This fascinating mountain forest hosts chimpanzees and spectacular birds. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemic bird species including the Blue-throated Broadbill, the bar-tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. Go to bed earlier this evening, since you should be fit for gorilla trekking the next day.

DAY 3 BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK /GORILLA TREKKING

This morning you will get up very early and for gorilla trekking. Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 6 hours, but is well worth the
effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. As an alternative to gorilla trekking, there are several walks that you can take. The Munyaga waterfall walk takes about 3 hours and goes through some areas of the park where you may see elephants.

DAY 4 BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

You will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will enjoy a game drive in Ishasha sector en-route. Ishasha is located in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. In Ishasha you will have a game drive searching for the unique tree-climbing lions. Only here the lions have the habit of climbing the trees. Queen Elizabeth National Park is considered as one of the national parks in the world that has the highest diversity of plants and animals. The landscape consists of open savannah, rainforest, dense papyrus swamps, crater lakes and the incredibly wide Lake Edward. In the afternoon, drive to Ishasha the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

DAY 5 QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Have an early morning game drive. There are over 100 mammal species that include lions, hippos, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyena, elephants and the elusive giant forest hog in this park. The primates include chimps, black and white colobus monkeys, blue, black faced red colobus, and red tailed monkeys and olive baboons. Return to the lodge. In the afternoon, you have a boat ride on Kazinga Channel. Queen Elizabeth boasts one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any game park, from the open savannah to rainforest, dense papyrus swamps and crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward.

DAY 6 QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK - KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Today you will drive to Fort Portal to Kibale National Park. Along the way you will pass through many tea plantations and you will have the opportunity to visit one. On the way stop in Fort Portal. In the afternoon you will arrive at your accommodation.

DAY 7 KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Today you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park, the chimpanzees. With over 1,450 individuals protected within the park, Kibale forest is home to the largest number of the endangered chimpanzees in Uganda, as well as the threatened red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. The forest has one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa: you have a total 13 species including the black and white colobus, blue monkey and grey-cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkey, bush babies and pottos. In the afternoon after tracking, you have the opportunity for a guided walk through the sanctuary wetlands of Bigodi. After the fascinating walk you have the choice of relaxing in the accommodation or community walk in a village nearby. Alternatively, you can visit a school in the local community, talk to the students and teachers and participate in the lessons.

DAY 8 KIBALE NATIONAL PARK - MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Today you will fly to the next highlight of your memorable tour of Uganda. You will go to the beautiful northwestern Uganda Murchison Falls National Park. In the afternoon take a trip to the legendary Murchison Falls. You will take a walk on the edge of the gorge through which the Nile falls with a deafening roar of about 43 feet deep.

DAY 9 MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast, enjoy a game drive. Drive across savannah, Borassus Palm Forest and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. Continue in the open African savannah in search for lions, leopard, hyena, buffalo, elephant, Jackson hartebeest, oribi, waterbucks, Uganda kobs. Enjoy spotting various bird species such as the secretary bird, black chested snake eagle, tawny and marshal eagle carmine and swallow tailed bee-eaters, and many more. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride on the Nile, arrive at the Murchison falls, where the park take its name from. Enjoy these spectacular falls. The Nile squeezes through a 7 meter gap and at the bottom bask Huge Nile Crocodiles.

DAY 10 MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK - ENTEBBE

After an early breakfast, you will start your journey back to Kampala. You will drive to Kampala. On the road, stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Then continue to the Airport and take your flight back home.
