    DAY 2 MARLA AND ALICE SPRINGS

    Wake to the deep red landscapes of the outback as the Ghan travels through remote and expansive country. A stop at Marla offers a glimpse into life in one of Australia’s isolated outposts. The journey continues to Alice Springs, the spiritual heart of the Red Centre, where an immersive Off Train Experience reveals the region’s rich Aboriginal culture, dramatic landscapes and compelling history. Rejoin the train in the evening and unwind as the Ghan continues its northbound journey.

    DAY 3 KATHERINE AND DARWIN

    Today brings you to Katherine, gateway to the spectacular Nitmiluk National Park. Choose between a scenic cruise through the towering Nitmiluk Gorge or an exploration of ancient Indigenous rock art, offering insight into one of the world’s oldest living cultures. Back onboard, the landscape shifts once more as tropical vegetation replaces the arid outback. Arrive in Darwin in the evening, marking the end of a legendary rail journey from south to north across Australia.
