DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN LISBON – OBIDOS (approx. 90 km)
Upon arrival at Lisbon airport, meet with the car rental representative that will facilitate your car rental arrangements. Drive north of Lisbon to the medieval walled town of Óbidos. The town is characteristically identified by its typical white houses, flowered windows and narrow streets paved with beautiful stones. During your stay in Óbidos, enjoy the area with its beautiful landscape, the national monuments in nearby
Batalha, Alcobaça, and the picturesque fishing town of Nazaré.

DAYS 2 - 4 PORTO (approx. 245 km)
After breakfast, drive north to the city of Porto, located on the right bank of the Douro River, and offers the delights of a riverside city. During your 3-night stay in “Oporto”, we suggest enjoying the city and its monuments, the historic centre of the city, classified as UNESCO World Heritage, visit an Oporto wine cellar just the other side of the riverbank, or take a cruise on the Douro River that crosses the Porto wine region, where you can admire the old city of Porto. We recommend a full day visit of the town of Guimarães, Portugal’s birthplace, with its medieval castle; Braga, and the 18th century shrine of Bom Jesus de Braga; Ponte de Lima, a beautiful small town, and known as the most floral town of Portugal; or Viana do Castelo with its unique handicrafts.

DAY 5 COIMBRA (approx. 130 km)
Drive from Porto to Coimbra. On the way, we suggest a quick stop in Aveiro, the “Venice of Portugal” and its spectacular monuments and in Bussaco to see the Royal Palace. Take the time to visit Coimbra; This unique and special university town houses one of Europe’s oldest universities, and has kept its secular academic traditions, as can be seen in the black-capped students. We also suggest driving 16 km south to Conimbriga and its roman ruins, one of Portugal’s oldest excavated settlements.

6 - 7
DAYS 6 - 7 LISBON (approx. 205 km)
Today, continue driving south to “Lisboa”, a must-see city with its World Heritage monuments and medieval quarters of Alfama, and Mouraria; walk along the typical streets of Bairro Alto; in the Madragoa district, be sure to enjoy a night this lively area, have dinner in a local Fado restaurant and listen to the traditional mournful songs. Visit the most historic sites in the quarter of Belém, including the Tower of Belem and the Jerónimos Monastery. We highly suggest taking the opportunity to visit the nearby romantic Sintra region and its unique Palaces. On the way back to Lisbon, pass by Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe and the seaside coastal towns of Estoril and Cascais, known as the Portuguese Riviera.
