All the impressive locations in Chile are distributed over an area of 746767 km2 in southeast South America and it is the longest and narrowest country in the continent. The most interesting thing about this country its is contrasts : you can visit the desert, the Patagonia and its ice, the exuberant nature in the south, the Andes Mountains, the beautiful beaches resorts and of course Santiago, its capital. Chile has a population of 16 000 000 including an ethnic minority called the « Mapuches » who represent 3% of the population.

Cities

Capital and largest city of Chile, Santiago is established in a valley surrounded by the snowy peaks of the Andes and the Cordillera de la Costa. The Plaza de Armas, the majestic heart of the old colonial center of the city, has two neoclassical monuments: the Palacio de la Real Audience, dating from 1808, home to the National Historical Museum, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, which dates back to the eighteenth century. The Chascona, the former home of the poet Pablo Neruda, has become a museum.

Concepción

Is a city in south-central Chile, capital of the homonymous province and the Region del Biobío. His name refers to the Immaculate Conception

Valparaiso

Is a port city located on the Chilean coast. It is known for its high-altitude funiculars and colorful houses that rise at the top of the cliffs. Sebastian a, the former picturesque residence of the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, is today a museum with an unobstructed view of the Pacific. The influx of European immigrants during the 19th century marked the architecture and cultural institutions of the city, many of which are clustered around Plaza Sotomayor, in the city center.

Polynesian volcanic island, whose indigenous name is Rapa Nui is located more than 3700 km west of the coast of Chile. This Polynesian island of 2000 inhabitants is mysterious and very isolated. You will find more than 900 colossal statues carved with volcanic rock, called “Moai”. Rich landscape, it consists of green plains, white sand beaches and incredible lava fields.

Language

Even if Spanish is the official language of the country, many other languages are spoken as the Quechua, the Mapudungun and the Rapanui spoken in the Easter Island.
