    DAY 1 BRISBANE - COFFS HARBOUR

    Begin your East Coast adventure with a warm welcome at Hanworth House in East Brisbane, where you’ll check-in and gather with fellow travelers for a celebratory start aboard The Great Southern. Departing late morning, the train winds its way south while you enjoy a leisurely lunch and the comfort of your private cabin. In the afternoon, the train reaches coastal Coffs Harbour, where the sun-drenched evening unfolds in true coastal fashion. Sip drinks and nibble canapés on Charlesworth Bay as the waves gently lap the shore, before savoring a signature outdoor dinner under the sky, featuring fresh seafood, regional produce, and local wines. A live band sets the soundtrack, and the day ends with a smooth journey back onboard for your first night of an unforgettable trip.

    DAY 2 HUNTER VALLEY - PORT STEPHENS OR NEWCASTLE

    Wake to a generous breakfast onboard as the Great Southern travels through New South Wales. Today offers a choice of immersive Off Train Experiences tailored to your interests. In the Hunter Valley, wander through historic vineyards, visit renowned wineries and enjoy tastings and lunch in a celebrated wine‑growing region. At Port Stephens, experience the coast through adventures across the vast Stockton Bight sand dunes, time on sun‑soaked beaches, tranquil waterways or a dolphin‑spotting cruise. In Newcastle, discover the city’s coastal heritage on a guided tour, followed by a waterfront lunch and a scenic walk along the shoreline. In the evening, rejoin the train for a regionally inspired dinner as the journey continues south.

    DAY 3 REGIONAL VICTORIA OR MELBOURNE

    After a relaxed breakfast onboard, the train rolls through the lush landscapes of Victoria. The day unfolds with a choice of two distinct experiences. In the Moorabool Valley, enjoy a long lunch at a respected vineyard, sampling cool‑climate wines and soaking up the peaceful rural surroundings. Alternatively, venture into Melbourne to explore Australia’s cultural capital, discovering iconic landmarks, rich heritage and creative energy, complemented by lunch with sweeping city views. Later, return to the train for a final elegant dinner onboard as the Great Southern continues toward South Australia.
