DAY 1 WELCOME TO OTAUTAHI-CHRISTCHURCH

Kia ora and welcome to Aotearoa-New Zealand! Your journey begins in Otautahi-Christchurch, the largest city on the South Island and a vibrant blend of heritage charm and modern innovation. Known as the ’Garden City,’ Christchurch boasts expansive public parks and a rejuvenated cityscape, where historic stone architecture harmonizes with contemporary designs born from the city’s remarkable rebuild following the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes.

DAY 3 SCENIC WONDERS FROM AORAKI/MT. COOK TO TE ANAU

A JOURNEY THROUGH CENTRAL OTAGO’S STUNNING LANDSCAPES
Leave the breathtaking peaks of Aoraki/Mt. Cook behind and journey south into a world of dramatic contrasts. Your adventure begins in Twizel, a filming location for many Lord of the Rings scenes. Just a bit further is Omarama, New Zealand’s gliding capital. Stop at the Wrinkly Rams café for fresh, homemade food and some of the best coffee in the area.
Ascend the Lindis Pass, one of New Zealand’s highest roads, reaching 971 meters at its summit. Marvel at the golden tussock-covered hills as you transition from the Mackenzie Basin to the rugged landscapes of Central Otago.
Your first stop in Central Otago is the charming village of Tarras, known for its boutique stores and inviting café. A short drive leads to the Bendigo Reserve, where you can explore the well-marked paths through the remnants of stone cottages and gold-mining ruins from Otago’s pioneering days.
Next, arrive in Cromwell, a town rich in history. Visit the historic Old Town, where relocated buildings now house quaint shops and cafes along the edge of Lake Dunstan. From here, follow the Kawarau Gorge, a dramatic route through towering cliffs that takes you into Gibbston, one of New Zealand’s premier wine regions.
At the iconic Kawarau Bridge, you can witness the thrill of bungy jumpers leaping into the abyss or simply take in the heart-stopping views. As you approach Queenstown, the magnificent Remarkables Mountain Range comes into view, followed by the sparkling waters of Lake Wakatipu.
