Morning city tour of Buenos Aires named “The Paris of South America”. On an unforgettable route, we will live all the porteño magic. These few hours feature all the magic of Argentina”s capital city. In this most complete overview of the Paris of South America we will visit the glamorous neighborhoods of Recoleta and its most famous cemetery, Palermo, May Square and the Pink House, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the newest & trendiest Puerto Madero Area and many other emblematic buildings and palaces of unique architectural, historical, and cultural value. The visit would not be complete without the sights of the first settlements of the city of Buenos Aires. The Pinteresque neighborhood of San Telmo, residence to the porteño aristocracy until the end of the XIX century and where the renowned antiques market is held every Sunday: Caminito Street, in the colorful, Italian immigrants’ neighborhood of La Boca. Today you will experience the Gaucho lifestyle in the Pampas at Santa Susana Ranch. Home to the gaucho, the humid pampa is one of the most fertile natural prairies in the world and is famous for its production of beef and cereals. Only a few kilometers away from the City of Buenos Aires, in a natural environment with beautiful landscapes, we will be honored with their typical national asado, empanadas, and excellent Argentinian wines. The wild smell of the countryside will invite us to break away from routine and discover a charming hundred-year-old rural tradition during the XXI century. Arrive to the capital of the Falkland Islands, also known as Port Stanley and you’ll find a coastal town worthy of a jigsaw puzzle. This quaint city is home to a small population (so few are the residents that the town’s only “jail” can only hold thirteen people.) But it’s a place big on things to see and do. Located on the small island of Hornos Island, Cape Horn is the southernmost headland of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago of southern Chile. Although it’s not the most southern point of South America (the Diego Ramírez Islands holds that claim), Cape Horn marks the northern boundary of the Drake Passage, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Pacific Ocean. Discovered and first rounded by the Dutchman Willem Schouten, Cape Horn was a major point where ships carried trade around the world until the Panama Canal opened in 1914. (B/L/D)

DAY 19 / JANUARY 2ND - SANTIAGO

Morning city tour of Santiago. We will start on the main street in the city center, Av. Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins (better known as Alameda) and there we will visit the Presidential Palace of La Moneda, a neoclassical building that houses an important part of Chilean history. We will visit the central pedestrian walkways of Huérfanos and Ahumada, which bring together the largest commercial activity in the capital and lead to the Plaza de Armas, a strategic place from where the first routes of the city were made. Around it we can see several historical buildings: the Cathedral Church, the Central Post Office, and the Municipality of Santiago. We will climb the Cerro Santa Lucía, a beautiful and important architectural and historical site that served as a strategic point of the founding of the city (and which is frequently visited by the people of Santiago) and then we will go to other places where the locals spend their time. free: the Forest Park, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Lastarria neighborhood. We will cross the Mapocho river to reach the Bellavista neighborhood, which concentrates a strong cultural and artistic activity, as well as being one of the favorites for the nightlife of the capital. Finally, we will get to know the new center of the city visiting Providencia and the communes of Las Condes and Vitacura, protagonists of the growth and modernity of Santiago, then returning to the hotel. DAY 20 / JANUARY 3RD - SANTIAGO

Today, we will explore the beautiful coastal cities of Viña Del Mar and Valparaiso. We will start our tour from the hotel to the coast to visit Valparaiso, a city that was the main port of the Pacific Ocean during the 19th century and that today is one of the main tourist destinations in Chile thanks to its vibrant culture and particular architecture. We will also visit Viña del Mar, a beautiful coastal city known for its gardens and its pleasant beaches. We will cross the fertile wine valley of Casablanca and arrive in Valparaiso, obtaining beautiful views of the city from the viewpoints located on one of the 43 hills that surround the bay. We will visit some of its historical and commercial areas and also the National Congress, and we will go up one of the most famous elevators in the city. We will go to Cerro Alegre and achieve an extraordinary view from Paseo Yugoslavo, continuing to Cerro Concepción and strolling through the picturesque Paseo Atkinson, obtaining one of the best postcards of Valparaíso. We will go to La Sebastiana, an original construction that today is a museum and cultural center that houses collections of the renowned Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, and then we will continue to the neighboring spa town of Viña del Mar. There we will visit the Casino de Juegos and the main avenues and gardens of the coastal sector, and then stroll through residential neighborhoods with modern architecture, reaching Reñaca beach. We will end by visiting the city center, Plaza Vergara, and Av. Alvarez, then returning to the hotel in Santiago. (B/L)
