DAY 1 MUNICH/VIENNA – SALZBURG
Arrival on your own at the hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure, to relax at our hotel and discover our surroundings. A welcome drink is included this evening.

DAY 2 HALF-DAY WALKING TOUR OF SALZBURG
We’ll depart our hotel for a half day guided walking tour of Salzburg, where we’ll visit the beautiful Mirabell Gardens and the pedestrianized street ‘Getreidegasse’, where the 18th century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born. Entrance to Mozart’s birthplace is included. Our afternoon and evening will be at leisure. Why not take the funicular railway to Festung Hohensalzburg to enjoy panoramic views of Salzburg?

DAY 3 AT LEISURE
Today, will be free to enjoy at leisure. Take some time to explore the city of Salzburg and wander around the UNESCO-listed old town, perhaps paying a visit to Hohensalzburg fortress for panoramic views of this fascinating city.

Optional Excursions : Optional Excursion - The Sound of Music Tour (+$):We will enjoy sweeping view while exploring the original shooting locations form the Sound of Music in Salzburg and the Lake District, including the wedding church in Mondsee. We will follow in the footsteps of the Von Trapp family and see the original settings from the film as well as learning about the historical and architectural landmarks of Salzburg. We will enjoy some music from the Original Sound of Music soundtrack and can feel free to sing along!

DAY 4 TRANSFER FROM SALZBURG TO VIENNA
After breakfast, we’ll check out and settle any hotel charges we may have incurred. We depart our hotel for a guided coach transfer to Vienna. Our transfer time is approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival, the rest of our afternoon and evening will be at leisure.

DAY 5 HALF DAY CITY TOUR OF VIENNA
Today we’ll discover Vienna during a half day guided sightseeing tour. We’ll enjoy sights like the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace (entrance included), the summer residence of Empress Sisi, before visiting Hofburg, the former Imperial winter residence and scene of the Vienna Congress (entrance not included). We’ll also visit the Ringstraße, home to magnificent buildings such as the Vienna State Opera House and the Votive Church. The remainder of our day will be at leisure.

DAY 6 FULL DAY DANUBE VALLEY
Today we’ll embark on a full day trip to one of the most beautiful parts of the Danube Valley - the Wachau, a UNESCO listed Site. During this excursion, we’ll pass the vineyards, abbeys and forests of the Austrian countryside as we learn about the area’s rich history. Next, we’ll travel by boat from Dürnstein to Melk. In Melk we’ll pay a visit to the Benedictine Melk Abbey, which overlooks the Danube River. First established in the 11th century, the Baroque-style abbey is adorned in bright frescoes and has housed monks for over 900 years.

DAY 7 DAY AT LEISURE
We’ll have today free for shopping and sightseeing of our choice. Why not take a trip to the Kunsthistorisches Museum, where works by Raphael, Caravaggio, Brueghel, Bosch and many more celebrated artists are on show, or perhaps pay a visit to the stunning Belvedere Palace and Gardens? Another option could be a stroll through Heldenplatz, withHofburg Palace, Parliament and Museumsquartier nearby. Be sure to take a coffee break, and try a slice of Vienna’s famous Sacher Torte!

DAY 8 DEPARTURE
The time has come to say farewell to Austria. After breakfast, we will check out. End of services.
