  • What to Expect

Beautiful green rice terraces, pounding surf, superb cuisine, spellbinding dance ceremonies and captivating nightlife: there are as many faces to Bali as there are names for the Hindu Gods who call this tropical island their home. Blissful shrines and temples can be seen at every turn and delicate offerings of food and flowers decorate the doorways. The sound of gamelan music and the percussive tapping of sculptors’ hammers float lazily on tropical air, scented with frangipani, jasmine and sweet sandalwood incense. Bali is quite simply a paradise on earth.
Sunsets in Bali set the ocean on fire, providing heavenly views as colourful as the cocktails that accompany them. For adventurers, the interior holds many secrets and treasures; jungle paths coil up volcano peaks and ancient rituals play out at night in the flickering light of village fires. For centuries, visitors to Bali have been captivated by the natural beauty and cultural richness of the island. In art, music, dance and drama, the Balinese have developed a distinctive culture all their own.

After lunch, proceed to visit Kerta Gosa; a relic of the 18th-century Klungkung kingdom, featuring fascinating classical wayang paintings on the ceiling. Next up, you’ll visit Tenganan. Tirta Gangga saw a series of restorations following the destructive hot showers of volcanic ash from the 1963 Mount Agung eruption. Next visit to Taman Ujung. Lovina is laid back, quiet and unassuming, a haven in the seldom-visited corner of Bali that retains its sedate and secluded mystique. Lovina is actually the collective name for string of sleepy villages, from Kaliasem in the west to Tukad Mungga in the east. The coastline meanders through Anturan and Kalibukbuk, along with the town of Lovina itself, stitching together many relaxing spots along a thread of black volcanic sandy beaches.
