DAY 1 FOZ DE IGUAÇU

Upon arrival in Foz do Iguaçu, private transfer from the airport (IGU) to your hotel and rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 2 FOZ DE IGUAÇU

Half day Iguazu Falls – Brazilian side
One of the most beautiful among the world’s natural postcards, the Iguassu Falls are located in Foz do Iguaçu and a few minutes from the city. The Falls, situated in the Iguassu National Park is considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. Created on January,10, 1939 and listed in 1986 by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site, the Iguassu National Park is one of the largest of the Forest reserves in South America as well as important for the protection of the State’s renewable resources. The type of predominant vegetation is the subtropical rainforest and the araucaria forest, with the presence of palms, imbúia, caviúna, mate herb and other species. The visit to the Park starts at the Visitors’ Center, located at the Park’s entrance, about 12 kilometers from the Iguassu Falls. In this center it is possible to find, besides photo exhibits on the Park and the Falls, a large souvenir shop and a bank terminal. To ensure greater comfort to visitors, the Visitors’ Center has a Medical Post and Bath Rooms including those specially made for the physically impaired. The fees to the Park can be bought at the Visitors Center. After passing through the Visitors’ Center, the tour continues, through a road that crosses the Park and takes us to the wonderful Iguassu Falls. Along the way, information and instructions about the area are given. Once at the Falls the tour takes place over an easy-to-walk path of approximately 1.200 meters which allows contact with the host coatis. At the end of the tour, we are presented with a panoramic view of the Falls, from a platform where we feel elated after an energizing bath thanks to the Floriano, Deodoro and Garganta do Diabo Falls. The tour ends on the upper part of the Falls, reached by a panoramic elevator. From here, we go to the Porto Canoas area, which receives us with a soothing view of the Upper Iguaçu River.

DAY 3 FOZ DE IGUAÇU - SALVADOR DA BAHIA

DAY 4 SALVADOR DA BAHIA

Half day Essential Salvador (Historical) - Duration: 4 hours
Discover the essential sights of Salvador on a half day tour tracing the development of the city from its simple beginnings to what is now the third largest city in Brazil. The tour focuses on historical and geographical aspects of the city and serves as a fine orientation for those wishing to further explore the city.
After hotel pick up with a private guide, Essential Salvador takes you to the Barra district at the mouth of the immense bay, site of important historical landmarks in Brazil’s early colonial period, now also a residential waterfront neighborhood. We then proceed via elegant tree-lined avenues and bustling city streets to the Pelourinho, a Unesco Heritage site and the largest complex of colonial architecture in South America. We leave the vehicle at the Municipal Square, by the towering Lacerda Elevator, allowing for great views of the bay stretching out to the lower city, and stroll through the narrow, bustling streets lined with buildings in pastel shades of an age gone by, soaking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant city. We visited the church of São Francisco with its exuberant gold-leafed Baroque interior and the Pelourinho square, the heart of the old town.

Half day Bahia by night: Dinner and show (Miguel Santana Theater)
An evening immersed in the permeating African heritage with an exhilarating performance by the Bahia Folklore Company (Balé Folclórico da Bahia), one of the most respected folklore dance troupes in the world.The Balé Folclórico da Bahia Company performs in the intimate Miguel Santana Theatre in the Pelourinho district in a seamless presentation of the multiple African traditions that underpin Bahian culture. We will see the sacred dances of the Candomblé; puxada de rede, a song by fishermen in honor of Yemanjá, the goddess of the sea; maculelê, an acrobatic stick and sword dance with its origins in the cane fields; the exhilarating capoeira martial art/dance, and the grand finale of samba de roda, a spinning, swirling version of this exuberant national dance.
After the performance dinner will be served in a local restaurant.

DAY 5 SALVADOR DA BAHIA - MANAUS

DAY 6 MANAUS - AMAZONIA

This morning boat transfer to the Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge. Check-in and welcome drink. In the afternoon, nature hike in the Monkey Forest.
The Monkey Forest is a restricted area where wild animals come and go as seasons pass by. There is always a feeding time schedule, under the supervision of the biologist and/or personnel with credentials to do so. Guests are welcome to visit, film and photograph the animals that may be on site, in a natural and safe environment.
The Monkey Forest is open to guests visits, always in the company of a facility professional. Guests are welcome to film and take as many photos as they wish in this natural and safe environment.
Duration: 40 minutes to 1 hour. Time is approximate.

In the evening tour in canoe to enjoy the sounds of nature.
Depart the lodge on paddle or motor canoes, to listen to the sounds of the jungle at night, with the possibility to spot alligators (or other creatures). Carrying a flashlight, alligators are easily spotted – two shining red lights among the foliage. Once the guide spots an alligator he will try to catch a small one with his bare hands bringing the animal on board for a brief explanation of the habitat of this primeval animal, hunting methods and the animal itself. After a brief stay on board and many photos, the alligator is safely released to its habitat. (Animals are handled with care – and guides cause no harm to the animals).

Important Note: From April to August, when the water is high it is difficult to spot alligators. Same occurs on nights of a full moon any time of the year.

DAY 7 AMAZONIA

Today, you will enjoy a full day tour to the “Meeting of the Waters” phenomenon, one of the natural wonders of Brazil. Depart Ecopark at 8h30am on board a regional double deck boat. The boat goes down the Negro River navigating along the shore of Manaus, allowing passengers to view the Amazonas Theatre, the port, Customs and interesting aspects of the local life – like the stilt houses. Arrival at The Meeting of the Waters by 11h30 am.
The Meeting of the Waters is the spectacle formed by the merging waters of Negro and Solimões Rivers. From this point on it becomes the famous Amazon running all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. The waters of the two rivers run alongside, not mixing, for about 12 km. The phenomenon happens due to differences in temperature, density and speed of the waters of each river.
Lunch at a typical restaurant. A buffet with international and regional dishes. (The restaurant is rustic and clean).

DAY 8 AMAZONIA - MANAUS

This morning, transfer back by boat to Manaus.
In the afternoon, half day city tour of Manaus. Considered the gateway to the Brazilian Amazon, the city of Manaus is characterized by rich architecture that refers to the golden age of rubber. This is an essential tour to understand the grandeur of the cultural heritage established in the middle of the Amazon Forest. See the best highlights of Manaus during this tour. Visit the Adolpho Lisboa Municipal Market, Fish and Banana Markets, Rio Negro Palace, City Museum (MUMA) and Amazonas Theater. Discover the interesting architecture, as well as the culture and history of this Amazon city along the way.

DAY 10 RIO DE JANEIRO

This morning, enjoy a half day tour to Corcovado. from many places in the city, the visitor can see the most beautiful postcard of Rio de Janeiro since 1931: Christ the Redeemer statue located at Corcovado mountain, 710 meters above the sea level. This tour begins at Cosme Velho neighborhood, from where the cog train starts the trip up to the statue, through the Tijuca Forest. Once there, a panoramic and extraordinary view of Rio will be seen including the Sugar Loaf, the Guanabara Bay, the beaches of the Southern Zone and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.

DAY 11 RIO DE JANEIRO

Half day Sugar Loaf tour
Duration: 04 hours approximately
This tour starts with a panoramic tour of the historic center of Rio, passing by the famous Sambadrome. Afterwards, we will stop at the Metropolitan Cathedral, which was built in a pyramidal shape, with an internal diameter of 96 meters and a height of 80 meters. You’ll have a few minutes to visit the Cathedral until it’s time to get back on the bus and get perspectives of the traditional Cinelândia Square as well as its historic buildings, from the Municipal Theater. Passing by Aterro do Flamengo, we will see one of the most beautiful gardens by Burle Marx, integration between urban space and nature, the Monument to the squares and the Igreja da Glória until we reach Urca, a neighborhood where the Sugarloaf Mountain is located, a one of the most famous symbols of this city.
This visit is made in 2 stages by cable car. The first cable car will take you to the top of Urca Mountain with 215 meters of altitude, where you can enjoy the view of Guanabara Bay, the Rio – Niterói Bridge and Corcovado. From this stage a second cable car will take you to the 2nd mountain with 395 meters, from where you will be able to enjoy the view of Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and the beaches of Niterói.

At Ginga Tropical you will get to know every Brazilian region through dance performance and clothing.
