DAY 2 / MARCH 10TH – HONG KONG

Half day Hong Kong city tour – Get to know the ins and outs of Hong Kong Island during this comprehensive half-day tour that touches on all the highlights. Learn about the history and culture as you visit major landmarks with your expert local guide.

Begin by taking the historic peak tram funicular up to Victoria Peak, where you will experience stunning panoramic views of the city from above.  While up there you will have time to explore the walking trails, shops and unique experiences that make the peak so special.

Transferring by bus back down into the city you then will enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch we explore the Old Clock Tower.   Standing at 44-metres tall, the tower was erected in 1915 as part of the Kowloon–Canton Railway terminus. The once-bustling station is long gone, but this red brick and granite tower, now preserved as a Declared Monument, survives as an elegant reminder of the Age of Steam. It has also been a memorable landmark for the millions of Chinese immigrants who passed through the terminus to begin new lives not just in Hong Kong, but in other parts of the world via the city’s harbour.

Finally we visit the Avenue of the Stars.  Originally modelled on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, the storied promenade that wraps around Tsim Sha Tsui’s southern border is where you’ll find Hong Kong’s biggest entertainment stars immortalised via celebrity handprints and statues. Reopened in 2019 following an extensive redesign, the Avenue of Stars is a celebration of the city’s artistic offerings and elemental aesthetics. (B/L)
