Half day Hong Kong city tour – Get to know the ins and outs of Hong Kong Island during this comprehensive half-day tour that touches on all the highlights. Learn about the history and culture as you visit major landmarks with your expert local guide.

Begin by taking the historic peak tram funicular up to Victoria Peak, where you will experience stunning panoramic views of the city from above.  While up there you will have time to explore the walking trails, shops and unique experiences that make the peak so special.

Transferring by bus back down into the city you then will enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch we explore the Old Clock Tower.   Standing at 44-metres tall, the tower was erected in 1915 as part of the Kowloon–Canton Railway terminus. The once-bustling station is long gone, but this red brick and granite tower, now preserved as a Declared Monument, survives as an elegant reminder of the Age of Steam. It has also been a memorable landmark for the millions of Chinese immigrants who passed through the terminus to begin new lives not just in Hong Kong, but in other parts of the world via the city’s harbour.

Finally we visit the Avenue of the Stars.  Originally modelled on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, the storied promenade that wraps around Tsim Sha Tsui’s southern border is where you’ll find Hong Kong’s biggest entertainment stars immortalised via celebrity handprints and statues. Reopened in 2019 following an extensive redesign, the Avenue of Stars is a celebration of the city’s artistic offerings and elemental aesthetics. (B/L)

Accommodation Keio Plaza Hotel 4* or similar for 3 nights

Full day Tokyo city tour – After breakfast you will be picked up at the hotel to begin your Tokyo city tour.  Watch this incredible metropolis unfold before your eyes.  Our first stop is the stunning and peaceful Meiji Shrine, where we can relax while walking the large forested paths throughout the shrine.  Then we move on to the nearby Harajuku Takeshita-Dori shopping street, the epicentre of modern teenage and pop culture fashion.  In contrast to the historic shrine, this area is bustling with colour, action and modernity.

Now we stop for a Japanese-style lunch (included) at a local restaurant.  After lunch it’s back on the coach and we head to Hamarikyu Garden, a stunning example of traditional Japanese horticulture, with its flowers, ponds and tea house.  Leaving the garden, we reach the riverbank and board the Sumida River cruise from Hamarikyu to Asakusa.  See the city from a unique perspective as we enjoy this 60-minute ride. Upon disembarkation, we head to our final stop, Asakusa Sensoji Temple, the most famous temple in Tokyo.  Wander the peacefulness of the temple or explore the surrounding Nakamise Street, full of souvenir and food shops.  In both areas you will be able to enjoy the cherry blossoms blooming along the Sumida riverside.

At the end, you will be dropped off at your hotel. (B/L)

 Full day Mt.
