DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN FARO (ALGARVE)

Arrival at Faro airport and then private transfer to your hotel. Rest of day is free. Overnight in Faro.

DAY 2 EAST ALGARVE TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel and then full-day tour of the Eastern Algarve. Departure towards Tavira to explore the ruins of the old castle, the church of Santa Maria do Castelo (panoramic) and the famous Roman bridge from the 4th century. Continue to Santa Luzia, a small village known for its fishing activity. Next stop is Olhão, a fishing port with a picturesque aspect of a Moorish village, with narrow alleys and white, cubic houses, covered by terraces and equipped with corner chimneys. Discover its famous typical fish market (closed on Sundays and Mondays). Free time to lunch. Then, discover Faro, the capital of the Algarve and the region’s international gateway. Take a guided tour of the old Moorish village located next to the Ria Formosa, followed by a visit to the Cathedral (admission included except Saturday afternoons and Sundays). Return to the hotel.

DAY 3 WEST ALGARVE TOUR

After breakfast, full day tour around the western Algarve region. Start with Sagres, a promontory known for its fortress (visit), and Cabo de São Vicente, the most southwestern point in Europe, with an impressive view of the ocean. Continue to Lagos, where Henrique, the Navigator, had the first ships built for his sea expeditions. It was the city where the caravels loaded with gold, ivory and slaves arrived. Lagos has become a famous seaside resort. Free time to lunch. Overview of Ponta da Piedade, a natural place known for its magnificent rock formations, one of the most extraordinary places in the Algarve. Free time for shopping. Return to the hotel.
