Optional Excursions : FULL-DAY VISIT TO CERRO MEZA AND KAYAK AT GARRAPATERO (This tour replaces the Bay Exploration. Minimum 2 passengers).
Start the day at the Cerro Mesa viewpoint, offering panoramic views over the southern coast of Santa Cruz. Continue with a hike down to a collapsed volcanic crater, where you may spot endemic birds and, with some luck, giant tortoises. After lunch, walk through the forest to El Garrapatero Beach and enjoy a 45-minute kayak excursion along the bay. You may also take a short walk to a brackish lagoon where flamingos can sometimes be spotted.

This 4-hour half-day tour offers an introduction to Cusco’s history, living culture and art, highlighting the blend of Andean and Spanish influences throughout the city. Visit the historic San Pedro Market, designed in 1925 by Gustave Eiffel, followed by the Koricancha Temple, an important Inca place of worship dedicated to the Sun. Continue to the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman and the archaeological site of Kenko, once used for ceremonial purposes, before visiting the Cathedral of Cusco and its remarkable collection of colonial art.

Set out early for a full-day excursion to Vinicunca, the famous Rainbow Mountain, at an altitude of 5,020 m. From Phulawasipata, begin an uphill hike of approximately 1.5 hours through the Andean landscape, with opportunities to see llamas, alpacas, local communities and the majestic Ausangate Mountain. Upon reaching the viewpoint, admire Vinicunca’s striking multicoloured slopes, shaped by the minerals found in the mountain’s soil. After returning to Phulawasipata, enjoy lunch in Cusipata before heading back to Cusco. The excursion involves approximately 8 km of walking and is subject to weather conditions. Visits are not recommended from January to March due to the rainy season.
