Costa Brava and Barcelona

Arrival in Barcelona, and transfer on your own to the hotel. After checking in, the rest of the day is at leisure. This evening, get together with your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner at the hotel.

The excursion begins with a visit to the exterior of the Sagrada Família, followed by a panoramic coach tour passing some of
Gaudí’s best-known buildings. Afterwards, the coach continues towards Montjuïc for panoramic views over the city before the
second stop near the port area. From there, guests will walk along Las Ramblas and through the charming streets of the Gothic Quarter, finishing at the Cathedral. After some free time, the group will return walking to the bus stop and then to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

The day starts with the traditional visit to a a renowned winery Cava (Freixenet) with tasting, followed by a guided visit to Tarragona, including the old town, the exterior of the Cathedral, the Roman Walls, the Roman Circus, the Mediterranean Balcony and the Amphitheatre. All visits are external, with guided explanations but without entrance tickets. After free time, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Today, continue to explore and uncover the beauty of Catalonia as you embark on a full day guided excursion to Montserrat and the local area. The day will begin with a visit to the mountain top location of Montserrat, home to the beautiful Benedictine Abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat. Your expert local guide will take you on a ride up towards the abbey and explain the importance of this religious and historic site. You will then be free to visit the Abbey, the on-site museum, or take a funicular to the highest part of the mountain range where you can admire spectacular views towards Barcelona and the coast. After a morning of discovery in Montserrat, continue our journey to the wine region of Penedès. Enjoy a tour of the winery, followed by a tasting of their famous sparkling Cava wine.

The coach will travel to Olesa de Montserrat, where guests will board the rack railway up to Montserrat. The visit includes the Museum, a tasting of traditional sweet wine and Catalan coca, time to visit the Basilica and the Black Madonna. The only activity not included would be the choir performance. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast departure for a guided visit of Girona’s historic centre, including the Cathedral, the Jewish Quarter and the city walls. The excursion then continues to Tossa de Mar. Using the tourist train to reach the lighthouse, makes the visit much more comfortable and enjoyable. Free Time and return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

A final free day for shopping, relaxing or enjoying the destination before departure.

After breakfast, it’s time to say “adios” to the lovely Costa Brava and set off for home. End of services.
